Kidney Wales CDF 10K : Cardiff
The Kidney Wales CDF 10 km is a city centre road race held in Cardiff. The course travels through central Cardiff and includes views of landmark sites such as Cardiff Castle and the Principality Stadium. The route crosses the River Taff and continues toward the suburb of Pontcanna, passing the grade 2 listed parkland of Llandaff and Pontcanna Fields. Runners also pass Sophia Gardens, noted as the home of Welsh cricket, before a grandstand finish at the Edwardian Civic Centre.
The event has been revived in recent years and has given thousands of runners the opportunity to run on streets in the heart of the Welsh capital. It is scheduled in early September and is positioned in the calendar as a race suitable for those training for the distance during the spring and summer months or as a stepping-stone when preparing for the Cardiff Half Marathon in October.
The description of the course highlights sightseeing through central Cardiff and a finish in a civic setting. Organisers publish route maps and event information, and the race has an associated gallery and video materials documenting past editions.
