Kidney Wales CDF 10K - Cardiff
The Kidney Wales CDF 10K is a city road race over a 10K distance that runs through central Cardiff. The course passes a number of city landmarks, including Cardiff Castle and the Principality Stadium, crosses the River Taff and continues toward the Pontcanna area and the grade 2 listed parkland of Llandaff and Pontcanna Fields. Runners then pass Sophia Gardens before a grandstand finish at the Edwardian Civic Centre.
The event was revived to return the race to the streets of Cardiff and has attracted thousands of participants since its relaunch. Organisers position the event in the calendar to suit athletes preparing for the distance during spring and summer, and some entrants use it as a stepping stone ahead of the Cardiff Half Marathon, held each October.
Information published about the event includes route visuals and a gallery of past editions. The event is associated with local partners and community initiatives and is presented as a sightseeing opportunity through the Welsh capital.
