Kidney Wales CDF 10K, Cardiff
The Kidney Wales CDF 10K is a city centre 10 km road race that follows a route through central Cardiff and several nearby neighbourhoods. The event is organised as part of the Run 4 Wales series and takes in multiple city landmarks along its course.
The route passes Cardiff Castle and the Principality Stadium in the heart of the capital. Runners cross the River Taff and continue towards the leafy suburb of Pontcanna, then through the grade 2 listed parkland of Llandaff and Pontcanna Fields. The course also runs by Sophia Gardens, the home of Welsh cricket.
The finish is staged at the Edwardian Civic Centre and is described as a grandstand finish. The revived event has given thousands of runners the opportunity to race on city streets. It is positioned in the calendar as an event for those building fitness through the spring and summer and as a preparatory race ahead of the Cardiff Half Marathon held each October.
