The RIDUM 2026
The RIDUM 2026 is a 30 mile ultra marathon following the Rhymney Valley Ridgeway Walk around the ridge tops of the Caerphilly basin in South East Wales. The circular route uses lanes, trail and woodland and offers elevated views across south east Wales.
The course includes roughly 4,250 ft of ascent and reaches Mynydd Machen, the route's highest point at about 362 metres (1,188 ft). Terrain is described as mostly trail with a small portion on road, and the event starts and finishes at Parc Penalta.
There are two fully manned checkpoints on the route. Checkpoints are stocked with snacks, fresh fruit, hot and cold drinks, seats, power banks and music. Organisers say dietary requirements will be accommodated at checkpoints. The event does not enforce a time limit and provides post race care.
Mandatory kit includes appropriate footwear, a 1 litre water carrier, a mobile phone, a headlamp or other light source for tunnels or night use, a foil blanket, a waterproof jacket and a rucksack.
