The RIDUM 2026
The RIDUM is a 30-mile ultra marathon held on September 5th, 2026. The route follows the Rhymney Valley Ridgeway Walk, a circular long-distance footpath around the ridge tops of the Caerphilly basin in South Wales. The race starts and finishes at Parc Penalta.
The course has a significant elevation gain, listed as 4,252 feet. The terrain is approximately 90% trail and 10% road. A notable point on the route is Mynydd Machen, a 362-meter hill.
There are two fully stocked checkpoints along the route providing snacks, fruit, and drinks. The event has no time limits. A list of mandatory kit includes appropriate footwear, a water carrier, a mobile phone, a headlamp, a foil blanket, a waterproof jacket, and a rucksack.
