Event Overview
The Downtown Dunedin Mardi Gras 15K is one of three distances offered on a Sunday in February. The event is held as part of Dunedin's annual Mardi Gras celebration.
Distances and Courses
The event offers three distances:
- 5K (run or walk)
- 10K (run, two-loop course)
- 15K (run, three-loop course)
All courses are run on the fully paved Pinellas Trail. The route is completely flat and follows an out-and-back format starting from the HOB Brewing Company. The 15K, consisting of three loops, is described as suitable for runners training for longer or more competitive races.
Participant Information
The event is limited to 200 participants. Registration includes a finisher's medal, a promotional themed T-shirt, and a free beer for runners over 21. There is a bag check available. Parking is free downtown, with participants encouraged to use the Artisan parking garage.
The race is timed using the electronic RaceSplitter system. Results are posted online the afternoon of the race. Framed awards are given to the first 15 male and first 15 female finishers in each distance, with additional awards for youth and seniors.
The atmosphere is described as a themed, laid-back event focused on fun and celebration. The course is stroller and dog friendly. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
