Event Overview
The Donut 5K Holiday Run/Walk is a 20th anniversary event taking place in Carmel, Indiana. The race is a 5K and also offers a virtual participation option.
Event Details
The physical race starts and finishes at St. Vincent Sports Performance, located at 14455 Clay Terrace Blvd in Clay Terrace. There is plenty of free parking available in the Clay Terrace mall parking lots. Race day packet pickup, vendors, and the post-race party are held inside the facility's large training room.
Dogs are allowed to participate in the event. There are awards for the best-dressed dogs in holiday gear.
Perks and Awards
A key feature of the event is the involvement of Jack's Donuts of Carmel. Over 7,000 donut holes are served on the course and at the finish line. Each race bib includes a buy-one-get-one-free offer for a donut from Jack's.
All participants receive an official event shirt and a finisher's medal. The first 1,500 registered participants also receive a special "DONUT ME" stocking hat with the 2026 design.
There is a cash purse for the top three male and female finishers, along with age group awards. The event notes that a new 5K age group structure means course records will be set for all age group winners.
Charitable Cause and After-Party
The event benefits local animal rescues, with over $100,000 donated over the years through this race.
An after-party is held at Upland Brewing, located a five-minute walk from the finish line. It opens at 10 AM exclusively for participants, offering a grab-and-go breakfast. For those 21 and older, a free beverage is available from Upland or the official beer partner. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
