The Dirt Dash
The Dirt Dash is a trail running event on September 12, 2026, held at Johns Island County Park, 2662 Mullet Hall Road, Johns Island, SC. The race is organized by Palmetto Ultras and presented by The Foot Store.

The course is an approximately 3.3-mile loop combining wide open cross-country type trails, single and double track, and a short grassy section. Runners complete multiple loops according to distance: 5K = 1 loop, 10K = 2 loops, half marathon = 4 loops, marathon = 8 loops. A fully stocked aid station is located at the start/finish area; there is one water stop on the course. The event is cupless; participants should bring a cup, bottle, or hydration bladder. Drop bag storage is available near the aid station for refilling between loops; organizers are not responsible for lost or stolen items.
Packet pickup is available before the race at THE FOOT STORE in Mount Pleasant and on race day at the Palmetto Ultras tent at the start/finish area. Camping for tents and RVs is available on site with a bath house and showers. Evening community activities are planned near the start/finish area. A 15% youth discount applies for runners 14 and younger. Volunteer hours can be exchanged for race-entry discounts: 6 hours = 50% discount, 12 hours = 100% discount.
The event proceeds rain or shine unless the managing park authority deems conditions unsafe. No refunds are issued; transfers or deferrals are offered if the event is rescheduled. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
