RunAble: The Descent 2

The Descent 2 is a point-to-point road race in West Yorkshire that follows a net downhill course from the moorlands to the town centre. The route begins at Baitings Reservoir, situated at an elevation of 975ft, and concludes at Sowerby Bridge at 252ft. This provides a total net descent of approximately 723ft (220m) over the duration of the run.

The course is entirely road-based, consisting of quiet upland roads and sweeping downhill sections. It is designed to be a fast, flowing route suitable for road shoes, offering scenic views of Calderdale as participants drop from the reservoir. The event is focused on speed and simplicity, moving away from traditional loops or significant uphill sections.

The event offers a single distance:

All finishers receive a medal as part of the entry fee. Commemorative t-shirts are available only to those who have pre-ordered them.
