The Descent 2

The Descent 2 is a point to point road race from Baitings Reservoir to Sowerby Bridge covering 10km. The course starts at about 975 ft and finishes at 252 ft, giving a net descent of approximately 723 ft (220 m). The route is fully road based and follows quiet upland roads into town.

Participants register at the finish location in Sowerby Bridge and are transported by bus to the start at Baitings Reservoir. The route offers long runnable downhill sections, sweeping descents and scenic views as it drops from reservoir to town centre. The course is designed for road shoes.

Event support includes a fully marked route, event staff at key locations, cut-off times, first aid cover and mandatory kit appropriate to conditions. All finishers receive a medal included with entry; a t-shirt is not included unless pre-ordered. Travel and parking details are provided to participants in the event briefing.

Places are limited. The event presents a single net downhill 10km format that moves from moorland reservoir to a town centre finish. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
