The Descent 2

The Descent 2 is a point-to-point road race from Baitings Reservoir to Sowerby Bridge. The route covers roughly 10km and drops from about 975 ft at the start to 252 ft at the finish, giving a net descent of approximately 723 ft (220 m). The course is fully road based with no trails or tracks.

The route follows quiet upland roads and includes long, runnable downhill sections and sweeping descents. It is presented as a fast, flowing course suitable for road shoes and offers scenic views as it descends from moorland reservoir to town centre.

On event day participants register at the finish location in Sowerby Bridge and are transported to the start at Baitings Reservoir. All finishers receive a medal included with entry; t-shirts are only provided if preordered. The event is organised as a point to point transfer and run back to the finish.

Safety and event support include a fully marked route, event staff at key locations, cut-off times, first aid cover, and mandatory kit appropriate to conditions.
