The Descent 2

The Descent 2 is a point to point 10 km (6.2 miles) road run from Baitings Reservoir to Sowerby Bridge. The course starts at 975 ft and finishes at 252 ft, giving an approximate net descent of 723 ft (220 m).

The route is fully road based with no trails or tracks. Runners can expect quiet upland roads, long runnable downhill sections, sweeping descents and scenic views as the route drops from the reservoir to the town. The course is designed for road shoes and a fast, flowing pace.

Logistics are arranged from the finish location in Sowerby Bridge; participants register at the finish and are transported to the start at Baitings Reservoir to run back to Sowerby Bridge. All finishers receive a medal included with entry. A t shirt is not included unless pre ordered. The published entry price is £25 and places are limited.

Event safety and support include a fully marked route, event staff at key locations, cut off times, first aid cover and mandatory kit appropriate to conditions.
