The Descent 1
The Descent 1 is a point-to-point road race that follows a net downhill course from Scammonden to West Vale. The event is characterized by a simple format: participants start at a high elevation and run down to the valley below. The route covers a total distance of 10 km (6.2 miles) and features a net descent of approximately 300 metres.

The course takes place entirely on asphalt, utilizing quiet upland roads and wide, scenic stretches. Because the route consists of long runnable downhill sections without loops or trails, it is designed for standard road shoes. The event is chip-timed and the course is clearly marked for all participants.
Registration takes place at the finish location in West Vale, after which a bus transports runners to the start line at Scammonden. Participation is limited to a maximum of 100 entries. Every finisher receives a medal as part of the entry fee, while event t-shirts are available only via pre-order.
