The Descent 1

The Descent 1 is a point to point road race that starts at Scammonden and finishes at West Vale. The course covers 10 km (6.2 miles) with a net descent of approximately 300 metres. The route remains on paved roads for its entire length and features wide, quiet upland roads with open views and long, runnable downhill sections.

Runners can expect a fast, flowing course designed for road shoes. The route is well marked and chip timed. The event format omits loops and trail sections, providing a single downhill journey from hillside to town.

All finishers receive a medal included in the entry fee. T shirts are not included and are only provided if pre ordered. Entry is limited to a maximum of 100 runners.
