The Descent 1
The Descent 1 is a point to point, fully road-based 10km race that runs from Scammonden down to West Vale. The course has an approximate net descent of 300 metres and is described as a long, flowing route with wide upland roads and open views.
The route features long runnable downhill sections and sweeping descents suited to road shoes. The course is well marked and chip timed. Race logistics include registration at the finish location in West Vale and bus transfers that take runners from the finish area up to the start at Scammonden.
