The Descent

The Descent is a thrilling 10k road race held in Halifax, starting from the top of Scammondon and finishing in West Vale, over 300 meters below. This scenic and fast downhill course offers a unique running experience, ideal for all levels from beginners to seasoned athletes. The route is well marked and chip timed, ensuring accurate results.

Participants are transported by bus to the start, then race downhill to the finish. With a limited entry of 53 runners, the event provides an intimate and exciting atmosphere.
