The Big Lime Triathlons - Hartlepool Marina
The Big Lime Triathlons return to Hartlepool Marina on 8 August 2027. The event offers multiple race formats with a swim in the marina, a fast and flat cycle route through Seaton Carew and Teesside, and a run along the Hartlepool seafront promenade. It is presented for individual competitors and relay teams, and is described as suitable for beginners and experienced triathletes.
Event distances include:
- Sprint Triathlon: Swim 750m, Cycle 20km, Run 5km
- Standard Triathlon: Swim 1,500m, Cycle 40km, Run 10km
- Sprint Aquabike: Swim 750m, Cycle 22km
- Standard Aquabike: Swim 1,500m, Cycle 40km
- Open Water Swimming event without bike or run
Wetsuits are optional in August temperatures but may be worn for comfort. There are no cut-off times and relay options are available. A secure transition area is provided; race and bike numbers correspond to racking spots, small bags or boxes are permitted inside transition, the bike number must be attached to the bike and helmets must be worn before entering, and bib and bike numbers will be checked before exiting transition.
Live chip timing is provided by Timing Up North. All finishers receive an event medal, Wild Deer merchandise, and a snack and drink. Parking is available in the car parks surrounding Hartlepool Marina. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
