The Big Lime Triathlons - Hartlepool Marina
The Big Lime Triathlons take place at Hartlepool Marina on 8 August 2027. The event includes swim, cycle and run legs with multiple race formats and relay options. The swim takes place in the marina, the cycle route passes through Seaton Carew and Teesside on a fast, flat course, and the run follows the Hartlepool seafront promenade.
Race formats available include Sprint and Standard triathlon, Sprint and Standard aquabike, relay entries and a dedicated open water swimming event. There are no cut-off times and relay teams are accepted.
Event distances:
- Sprint Triathlon: 750m swim, 20km cycle, 5km run
- Standard Triathlon: 1,500m swim, 40km cycle, 10km run
- Sprint Aquabike: 750m swim, 22km cycle
- Standard Aquabike: 1,500m swim, 40km cycle
Wetsuits are optional for August water temperatures, though they may be worn for comfort. The transition area is secure for competitors; race and bike numbers correspond to racking spots, small bags or boxes are permitted inside, the bike number must be attached and helmets worn before entering, and bib and bike numbers are checked before exiting. Live chip timing is provided by Timing Up North.
All finishers receive an event medal, Wild Deer merchandise and a snack and drink. Parking is available in car parks surrounding Hartlepool Marina. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
