The Big Lime Triathlons - Hartlepool Marina
The Big Lime Triathlons return to Hartlepool Marina for a day of multisport competition. The event features various distances and disciplines, utilizing the marina for swimming, the local roads of Seaton Carew and Teesside for cycling, and the seafront promenade for the running segments.
Participants can choose from the following event categories:
- Sprint Triathlon: 750m swim, 20km cycle, and 5km run.
- Standard Triathlon: 1,500m swim, 40km cycle, and 10km run.
- Sprint Aquabike: 750m swim and 22km cycle.
- Standard Aquabike: 1,500m swim and 40km cycle.
The cycling routes are described as flat, while the run takes place along a scenic seafront. Relay options are available for those who wish to compete as a team. There are no cut-off times enforced for these races. Additionally, a dedicated open water swimming event is hosted at the same location.
The event transition area is secure and restricted to competitors. Participants are assigned specific racking spots based on their race and bike numbers. Although water temperatures in August typically make wetsuits optional, their use is recommended for comfort. All participants receive live chip timing for accurate tracking. Finishers are provided with an event medal, branded merchandise, plus a snack and a drink. Free parking is available on-site at the marina for all participants.
