About the race
The Drop – Durham is staged at The Cartologist on North Road in Durham (DH1 4NQ). Participants choose a 15-mile or 10-mile challenge, run solo or in a team. The event is pitched as a thrilling, military-inspired test of resilience and navigation, with a minimalist approach to aid.
Registration requires surrendering electronic devices and navigational aids; you’ll board a bus, don blackout safety goggles, and be dropped at an undisclosed location. The course back to the event centre is measured as the crow flies, with no maps, GPS, or route guidance. No help is allowed; an emergency bag must stay sealed.
