The Cow Shed Backyard Ultra

The Cow Shed Backyard Ultra is an endurance running event held at Wheelbirks Parlour, Wheelbirks Farm in Stocksfield, Northumberland. Participants must complete a 4.1-mile loop every hour on the hour, continuing until only one runner remains. The course features approximately 550 feet of elevation gain per loop and traverses farmland, single-track trails, and woodland dirt tracks on private land, making pre-race reconnaissance impossible.

The event offers both solo and new five-person team categories, with team totals combined while at least two members remain running. Amenities include free camping, hot and cold drinks, snacks, onsite catering, and eco-friendly race mementos. Proper weather-appropriate gear and headlamps for night running are required.
