Lambton Castle Trail Runs : 16 August 2026
The event takes place at Lambton Castle, Chester-le-Street, County Durham, DH3 4PW, on 16 August 2026. The estate is privately owned and normally closed to the public. Distances offered:
- 5 miles - Mixed terrain route, shorter option.
- 10 miles - Moderately undulating, woodland, fields, estate roads.
- 15 miles - 10-mile route plus the 5-mile loop.
Registration opens 18 August 2025 and closes 12 August 2026. Standard entry prices listed in the event information are £24 for 5 miles, £26 for 10 miles, and £28 for 15 miles, each plus fees. A custom event T-shirt can be added during registration for £12.
Course, facilities and rules
Route maps are provided for the 5-mile and 10-mile courses; the 15-mile route is the 10-mile route plus the 5-mile loop. Surfaces include woodland tracks, grassy fields, firm paths, and short sections on private estate roads. The event is canicross-friendly: one well-controlled dog per runner is allowed and dogs must remain on a lead at all times.
Live chip-timing is provided by Timing Up North with instant results. All finishers receive a bespoke event medal, Wild Deer merchandise, and a snack and drink. On-site parking is available for participants and spectators. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
