Event overview
The Lambton Castle Trail Runs take place on Sunday 16 August 2026 at Lambton Castle, Chester-le-Street, County Durham (DH3 4PW). The event offers three distance options:

- 10 miles
- 15 miles
Registration opens 18 August 2025 and closes 12 August 2026. Live chip-timing is provided by Timing Up North. All finishers receive a bespoke event medal, event merchandise, and a snack and drink. A custom event T-shirt can be added during registration for £12.
Course, venue and rules
Routes run on private estate land that is not normally open to the public. Surfaces include woodland tracks, grassy fields, firm paths, and brief sections on private estate roads. The 5-mile course is mixed terrain. The 10-mile course is moderately undulating with woodland, open fields, and estate roads. The 15-mile distance comprises the 10-mile route plus the 5-mile loop. Parking is available on site for participants and spectators. The event is canicross-friendly: one well-controlled dog per runner is allowed and dogs must remain on a lead at all times.
