Event Overview
The Cougar Dash 5K and 1-Mile Fun Run is a community sports event held in Yorktown, Virginia. Organized by the Coventry Elementary PTA, the race serves as a non-profit fundraiser to support student programs. The courses are set on flat asphalt surfaces through the neighborhoods of Coventry and The Greenlands. Participants may choose to run or walk the distances.

- 1-Mile Fun Run
The routes are designed to be flat, providing a consistent surface for participants. The path leads through residential areas where local residents often gather to support the runners.
Race Logistics and Awards
Packet pickup is held at the Coventry Elementary school gymnasium on the day before the race. Every participant who completes their distance receives a finishing medal. For the 5K distance, additional awards are provided for top performers. Engraved medals are presented to the first, second, and third place overall adult male and female finishers. Engraved trophies are awarded to the top three girls and boys in specific youth age categories, ranging from age 6 and under up to age 17.
Registration must be completed in advance, as there are no race day registrations. Participants registered by April 22nd are guaranteed an event T-shirt. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
