The Cougar Dash 5K and 1-Mile Fun Run
The Cougar Dash takes place on Saturday, April 25, 2026, at Coventry Elementary School in Yorktown, VA (200 Owen Davis Boulevard). The event is organized by Coventry Elementary School PTA as a non-profit fundraiser, with 100% of proceeds benefiting the school. The course is on asphalt and runs through the neighborhoods of Coventry and The Greenlands.

The event offers a youth 5K category (ages 3-18) and an adult 5K category. Listed registration fees are $45 for the adult 5K, $30 for the youth 5K, and $25 for the 1-mile fun run. Prices increase after January 31, 2026. The last day to register is Friday, April 24, 2026; no same-day registrations are allowed. Registrations after April 22 are not guaranteed a T-shirt. Packet pickup is scheduled for Friday, April 24 in the Coventry Elementary gymnasium; participants unable to pick up on that day should go to the race check-in station on race day to receive their packet.
Awards and volunteering
Overall adult male and female awards for the 5K include engraved medals for 1st through 3rd place. Top three girls and boys in age groups receive engraved trophies; age groups include Teen (13-17), 11-12, 9-10, 7-8, and 6 and under. Every runner receives a finishing medal.
