The ColyTEN

The ColyTEN is a scenic multi terrain 10 mile race that starts and finishes in Colyton. The route is around 80% off road and follows sections of the river Coly before climbing through Ox Woods and running through the woodland trails of Morganhayes, then returning to Colyton.

The course begins beside the river Coly a short walk from Race HQ. Runners follow an initial footpath and a short road section to Chantry Bridge, then go off road, cross the river and tackle a steep ascent through Ox Woods. After a descent down Jobbles Lane the route enters undulating woodland paths in Morganhayes with a couple of steep climbs and a brief road section. On leaving the woods there are about three miles remaining, mostly downhill or flat with roughly one mile on road. The finish is a lap of the playing field, where finishers receive a medal and refreshments including a drink and a flapjack.

Race HQ at the Peace Memorial Playing Fields / Colyton Football Club provides registration, number collection and bag drop. Numbers must be pinned to the front with personal details completed on the reverse. On site toilet facilities are available. There are two cupless water stations at about 2.5 and 7.5 miles and a three hour cut off time. No headphones are allowed during the run and dogs are not permitted at Race HQ. Limited parking is available nearby. Entry fees are listed as £20 affiliated and £22 unaffiliated, with on the day entries if available. The event is organised by Axe Valley Runners in association with Colyton Football Club. A donation from proceeds will go to Devon Air Ambulance. Minimum age is 17 or older.
