The Church of St. Andrew 5K Steeplechase
The Church of St. Andrew in Richmondtown, founded in 1708, hosts an annual community event on its grounds. The 2026 edition is the fifth running and features both a run and a walk held on church property that uses a well known footpath through the greenbelt.
Distances:
- 3.1 mile run
- 1.1 mile walk
The event serves as the first leg of the inaugural Staten Island FALL TRIFECTA; completing this race plus the second and third legs qualifies a participant for recognition at a Trifecta celebration. Awards include first place trophies for overall male and female and top three medals in each age group for male and female competitors: 12 and under, 13-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70+.
Technical T shirts are guaranteed to the first 100 pre registered runners and to the first 50 pre registered walkers. Race day shirts are available while supplies last. The start and finish area is next to the church at 40 Old Mill Road. Free race day parking is listed at Hemsley Hall, 4 Arthur Kill Road, and Historic Richmond Town, 441 Clarke Avenue.
The event is planned as a rain or shine occasion and is presented to support the church's charitable initiatives in the Staten Island community. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
