The Child Advocacy Center of Tuscola County Superhero 5K Run/Walk
The event is a 5K Run/Walk held in Caro, Michigan at the Tuscola County Fairgrounds, located at the corner of State Street and Park Drive. The Superhero Run carries the theme "1 Time, 1 Place, 1 Person: Superheroes Making a Difference" and includes a Best Overall Costume Contest with separate gift card awards for age divisions 12 and under and 13 and over. Participants may submit costume photos to the event organizer for contest consideration.
The Child Advocacy Center of Tuscola County provides a child friendly environment where children who have experienced sexual or physical abuse and neglect can tell their story one time, at one place, to one specially trained professional. In 2025 the center conducted 163 forensic interviews that contributed to arrests and prosecutions. The center describes its work as reducing trauma during investigations and offering services at no cost to families.
The event is presented in support of the Child Advocacy Center and its services for children in the community. Information shared about local prevalence notes that one in three girls and one in four boys will experience some form of sexual abuse before age 18.
