The Mardi Gras 5K Run/Walk & 10K Run takes place on Mar 7, 2026 in Reese, Michigan, at Reese High School (1696 S Van Buren Rd.). The event offers three distances:
- 5K Run
- 5K Walk
- 10K Run
Facilities at the venue include restrooms and use of locker rooms. The course is described as flat and fast on asphalt roads.
Entry, fees and series information
The entry fee is $10.00; $2.00 from each entry will be donated to the Reese High School Athletic Program. No shirts are provided.
This race is part of the BARC Winter Race Series. Awards are given to all finishers. Series awards are presented after the March race. To qualify for the special series award a participant must run three races in the same age group and the same distance.
Age groups for male and female participants are: 14 and Under; 15-19; 20-24; 25-29; 30-34; 35-39; 40-44; 45-49; 50-54; 55-59; 60-64; 65-69; 70 and Over. Age used for series points is the age as of December 13, 2025 or the age at the first race the participant runs.
Points awarded for the series: 5 points for completing each race, plus additional points by place in age group (5 for 1st, 4 for 2nd, 3 for 3rd, 2 for 4th, 1 for 5th). Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
