Cheshire 3 Peaks Half Marathon
The Cheshire 3 Peaks Half Marathon is a trail event centred on Tegg's Nose Country Park above Macclesfield. The route is a 13.1 mile loop that visits the three highest tops in Cheshire: Tegg's Nose, Shuttlingsloe and Shining Tor. The course covers varied terrain and totals 847 m of ascent, so many participants will include some walking. A four hour overall cut off applies for completion.
From the centre the route climbs to Tegg's Nose with immediate wide views, then descends to Tegg's Nose reservoir and continues through a flatter section into Macclesfield Forest and Trentabank car park. The course then climbs Shuttlingsloe, drops towards Clough House and crosses the main road by the Cat & Fiddle, where a 2 hour 15 minute cut off is in place, before the final ascent to Shining Tor, the highest point in the county.
The final miles are described as bumpy with changing underfoot terrain and scenery. The event finishes back at Tegg's Nose where finishers receive a medal and can access on‑site facilities. The 2026 edition is the second running; the inaugural event took place in 2025. Course records from 2025 stand at 1:44:51 for male and 2:10:03 for female.
