Course and logistics

The route visits the three highest tops in Cheshire: Tegg's Nose, Shuttlingsloe, and Shining Tor. From the centre at Tegg's Nose participants ascend to Tegg's Nose summit, descend to Tegg's Nose reservoir, run through a flatter section to Macclesfield Forest and Trentabank car park, then climb Shuttlingsloe. After descending toward Clough House the route crosses the main road by the Cat & Fiddle, where a cut off of two hours fifteen minutes applies, before the final ascent to Shining Tor. The remaining miles are described as bumpy with changing terrain and varied scenery. The race finishes back at Tegg's Nose; finishers receive a medal and there is an opportunity to replenish after the race.
