Cheshire 3 Peaks Half Marathon : Tegg's Nose Country Park
The Cheshire 3 Peaks Half Marathon is a trail half marathon held from Tegg's Nose Country Park above Macclesfield. The route is a 13.1 mile loop that visits the three highest tops in Cheshire and passes through a variety of trail terrain.
The course includes approximately 847 m of total ascent. From the park runners head up to Tegg's Nose, descend to the reservoir, then follow a flatter section through Macclesfield Forest and Trentabank car park before the ascent of Shuttlingsloe. After views from the top and a descent towards Clough House, runners cross the main road by the Cat & Fiddle, where a 2 hour 15 minute cut off applies, then begin the climb to Shining Tor, the highest point in Cheshire.
The final miles are bumpy underfoot while not featuring sustained climbs, with changing scenery and trail surfaces until the finish back at Tegg's Nose. The event uses an overall 4 hour cut off for completion and awards finish medals. The race debuted in 2025 and 2026 is its second edition.
Course records recorded in 2025 are: male 1:44:51 and female 2:10:03. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
