The Cedar Grove Scamper - Presented by Chico Running Club
The Cedar Grove Scamper is a spring running event organized by the Chico Running Club. Held in Chico, California, the race takes place at the Cedar Grove Picnic Area within lower Bidwell Park. The event supports the Chico Running Club's non-profit mission, including its scholarship fund and support for local runners in the North State region.
Participants follow a 4 mile loop course that begins and ends at the Cedar Grove Picnic Area. The route utilizes a mix of pavement and dirt trail surfaces. From the start at South Park Drive, the course crosses the Forest Avenue bridge to the north side of Big Chico Creek, moves onto Peterson Memorial Drive, and then utilizes the Vallombrosa dirt trail. The final section returns to the start via South Park Drive after passing under the Highway 99 over-crossing.

- 4 Miler: Open Division (All Ages)
- 4 Miler: Master's Division (Age 40+)
The event provides a single water station at the approximate halfway point of the course. Additional water and snacks are available for participants at the start and finish lines. Timing for the race is managed by the Chico Running Club, and prizes are awarded to the top finishers in the Open and Master's divisions.
