The Cedar Grove Scamper
The Cedar Grove Scamper is a four mile running event organized by Chico Running Club in Bidwell Park, Chico, California. The course is a loop that begins and ends at the Cedar Grove picnic area and follows a mix of pavement and dirt trail through lower Bidwell Park, crossing the Forest Avenue bridge and running along Peterson Memorial Drive and the Vallombrosa dirt trail.
Race entries are offered in two divisions:
- 4 Miles - Open Division (all ages)
- 4 Miles - Master's Division (age 40+)
Bibs will be provided to all entrants. Packet pick-up is available in advance at Fleet Feet and there is day-of bib pick-up at Cedar Grove. Timing is handled by Chico Running Club. One water station is located at the halfway point on course; participants are advised to carry any additional water or food they need. Park bathrooms are available at Cedar Grove. Drinks and snacks will be available after the race.
Registration fees apply and a member discount is offered to Chico Running Club members. Registered participants who selected the shirt option before May 3 will receive a shirt at check-in. Proceeds support Chico Running Club, including its scholarship fund and nonprofit programs that support local running events and runners. Volunteer roles and sponsorship tiers are part of the event organization. Race insurance is available through a RunSignUp partner. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
