Almond Blossom Run - Durham
The Almond Blossom Run is a 44th annual event organized by Durham Sports Boosters on Sunday, February 22, 2026. It takes place in Durham, with the start and finish at Durham High School (9455 Putney Drive). The course goes through local almond orchards, with trees expected to be in bloom.
The event offers live in-person runs and virtual options. Participants can choose from these distances:
- 5K Run
- 10K Run The in-person events feature chip timing by Under the Sun Events and start in waves every five minutes based on registration level. Virtual options allow runners to complete the official course or their own course on the same day.
In-person participants are eligible for awards. Top male and female finishers in each distance receive a gift certificate for running shoes from Fleet Feet in Chico. Age division winners also receive medals. Virtual participants are not eligible for prizes.
Registration costs $45 plus a $1.85 fee. A participant shirt (long-sleeved technical or short-sleeved poly-cotton blend) is included, but sizes and styles are limited. A $10 shipping fee applies for shirts for participants in the virtual "make-your-own-course" event. Proceeds support athletic programs at Durham Intermediate School and Durham High School.
