The Cape Clear Island Races : 29 August 2026
The event takes place on Cape Clear Island, West Cork. It is organised by OuterEdge Eire and is scheduled for 29 August 2026. The course uses island hiking trails and rarely used island lanes that feature fuchsia growth. The route offers views over Roaringwater Bay, Fastnet Rock Lighthouse (about 6 km west of the island), Sherkin Island and the mainland. Cape Clear is a Gaeltacht island with a population of around 130 and local activities including arts and crafts, lavender production, goat farming and a distillery producing lavender gin.

Entries open 18 December 2025 and close 23 August 2026. Minimum age is 17 or older and maximum age is 75 or younger, measured relative to the event date. Entry fees are listed as follows: Half Marathon €105.00 (rising to €115.00 from 01/05/2026) and 10 km €75.00 (rising to €85.00 from 01/05/2026). The entry fee includes the return ferry from Baltimore harbour to Cape Clear Island. The event offers an optional XCover purchase that may allow refund in some unforeseen circumstances.
