Mount to Coast MizMal ® 2027

Mount to Coast MizMal ® is a supported, GPS-navigation end-to-end running event across Ireland. The event covers an official distance of 612 miles over fourteen consecutive daily stages, running from Mizen Head in County Cork to Malin Head in County Donegal. The 2027 edition is scheduled for 7th–20th May and the full-event field is limited to 20 competitors.

Each day is a separate race with its own name, route, checkpoints and bespoke finisher's medal. Full-event competitors receive organised accommodation and catering, supported checkpoints, official GPX route files, GPS tracking devices with an SOS facility, complimentary Mount to Coast footwear, an Ultra Running technical running shirt and a personalised high-visibility jacket. MizMal ® is a cup-free event so every competitor must carry a reusable drinking vessel.

Competitors must follow the official GPX routes, visit compulsory checkpoints in order and maintain a minimum overall average speed of 4 mph including stops; failure to meet cut-offs may result in withdrawal, subject to the Race Director’s discretion. Checkpoints provide food and fluids but runners are responsible for carrying personal nutrition and suitable navigation and safety equipment. The route uses public roads which remain open to traffic; competitors must obey Irish road laws and take appropriate safety precautions.

Full-event finishers who complete all fourteen stages in accordance with the rules receive fourteen daily medals plus the overall MizMal ® finisher's medal, a total of fifteen medals. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
