The Butterfly Run
The Butterfly Run is an annual community event held in Katy, Texas. Now in its third year, the event takes place at the Small Fire Thorne Community Center. The run serves as a fundraiser to support Her Well Center, an organization that provides crisis intervention and healing services for survivors of sexual assault and intimate partner violence in Waller, Fort Bend, and Harris Counties.
Participants may choose the following distance:
- 5 km
The event brings together supporters of the Her Well mission as well as community members looking to spend a morning outdoors. Funds generated through the race contribute to the organization's ability to offer free services, including one-on-one counseling, medical checkups, and self-defense training for women. The location is situated at 28760 S Firethorne Rd, and the run is scheduled for the month of April.
Her Well Center, the primary beneficiary, emphasizes mental, physical, and spiritual recovery for families overcoming trauma. The transformation theme of the butterfly represents the healing journey from past pain to restoration. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
