Event overview
The Bulldog Ultra takes place on August 15, 2026 at Malibu Creek State Park in Calabasas, California. The event has been held for 34 years in the Santa Monica Mountains. It offers multiple trail distances and is presented as part of the Bulldog Challenge Series.
- 25k - 14.87 miles, 2,947 feet of climbing
- 50k - 29.4 miles, 5,784 feet of climbing
- 75k - 3-loop course with a 10-hour cut-off
Course and support
The courses use single track and fire roads with ocean views and mountain terrain. Organizers note steep, long climbs and high canyon temperatures can occur. Aid stations are fully stocked with Skratch Labs hydration. Key support features for the 50k include a start-of-second-loop aid station that accepts drop bags and pacers and aid stations with toilets.
Awards and onsite services
The 50k carries a $4,000 prize purse with payouts for the top three overall finishers per gender. Podium awards and age-group awards are given for the distances; age groups include U20 and 10-year bands up to 70+. Finishers receive a medal and race tee and results are chip timed and available the same day. Onsite services include free course photos, post-race food, a beer garden, and post-race sports massage.
