The Brooklynite Fall 10K & 5K
The Brooklynite Fall event takes place at the American Veterans Memorial Pier in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn, NY. It offers two race distances along the shore with a start and finish at the pier.
- 5K - one loop along the shore
- 10K - two loops along the shore
The course runs along a paved path with separate lanes for cyclists and pedestrians. Runners should be aware that the park is open to the public and that headphones are not allowed. Parking is available on Shore Parkway. A personal items area will hold bags and coats and is managed by volunteers.
Course specifics include U-turn locations roughly 1.55 miles from the start for the 5K and approximately 1.59 miles and 0.1 miles for the 10K U-turns. Mile markers are placed for every mile and water tables are located at three points on the loop offering water, electrolyte drinks, and gels.
Timing is electronic with chip mats placed to record splits for each loop and live upload of times to the results page. Participants must wear their bib on the front torso for timing. Awards are presented to the top three overall male and female finishers and in multiple age groups. Finisher medals, technical shirts, and bagels are provided; awards are not mailed.
