The Brooklynite Fall 10K & 5K - American Veteran Memorial Pier, Brooklyn
The event offers two road races along the shore at American Veteran Memorial Pier in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn. Distances include:
- 5 km one loop
- 10 km two loops
Courses run along the waterfront with mile markers placed for every mile. The 5K is a single loop; the 10K consists of repeated loops with designated u-turns (approximately 1.55–1.59 miles from the start for the primary u-turns). Water and electrolyte gels are provided at tables on the course in sealed bottles; runners are advised that supplies are self-served and may wish to carry a personal water bottle.
Participants receive a bib with an attached timing chip and a tear-off tag for access to the secure personal items area. Baggage check-in is available on request and is limited. Bibs must be worn on the front torso to ensure official timing; timing mats record splits each loop and upload results live to the event results system. Finishers receive medals and technical t-shirts.
Awards are presented to the top three overall males and females followed by age group awards, covering multiple age brackets from 19 and under through 70 plus. Organizers note shared park paths with separate lanes for cyclists and pedestrians; headphones are not allowed and caution is recommended when crossing bike lanes. Parking is available along Shore Parkway. A transfer option is available for a fee. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
