Event details
The Blue Move is scheduled for Saturday, August 8, 2026, in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. The race starts and finishes at Fawick Park (200 S 2nd Ave) and runs out and back on a designated paved trail that follows the Big Sioux River. The event includes the following distances:
- 5 km
- 1 mile
Every half mile there will be facts about colorectal cancer along the route, and the finish is through a large inflatable colon. All proceeds help fund colonoscopies for underserved patients of Falls Community Health in Sioux Falls.
Additional information
Children aged 10 and under may participate for free; youth small t-shirts are available for purchase for $10. T-shirts and a swag bag are guaranteed for the first 100 participants who register by July 27. Dogs are allowed if on a leash, and strollers are permitted.
Race awards for the 5k include top two male and top two female finishers, top two runners age 15 and under, and best time for a 5-person team. Fun awards include Most BLUE Participant, First Person to Register (must be present to win), and Farthest Distance Traveled (must be present to win). ADA accommodation is available through the Human Relations Office. If the event is canceled for inclement weather, participants will be notified by email and Facebook; refunds will not be given if canceled.
