Lace Up for Kids: 5k, 10 Mile, & Bake Sale
The Kiwanis Club of Sioux Falls presents a community fundraiser at Cherry Rock Park in Sioux Falls, SD. The event includes a 5k run, a 10 mile race, and a free-will donation bake sale. Registration fees are listed as $25.00 for the 5k and $35.00 for the 10 mile; the bake sale is donation based and has no registration fee.
The course is described as a flat out-and-back along the bike path beginning and ending at Cherry Rock Park. Awards will be given to the top three finishers for men and women in the running events.
Packet pick-up is available the day before the event at Central Bank (4900 S Western Ave) and on race morning. Organizers note there will be no event swag to help keep costs down and to direct more funds to local causes.
All funds raised through the races and the bake sale remain local. Supported organizations include local child and family programs, food banks, and other community services such as Adopt A Family, CASA, Feeding South Dakota, Kids Against Hunger, McCrossan Boys Ranch, Sioux Falls Humane Society, and Toy Lending Library.
