St. Patrick’s Day Running Tradition
Lucky 7's is a St. Patrick’s Day themed sports event held in downtown Sioux Falls, South Dakota. The event features several road races that navigate through the city's central landmarks and parks. Participants can choose to register for individual distances or take part in the Shamrock Shuffle, which involves completing all three race distances on the same day.
The event offers the following race categories:
- 5 Mile Run/Walk
- 5K Run/Walk
- 1 Mile Run
- Shamrock Shuffle (all three distances)
The 5 Mile and 5K courses start and finish at Fawick Park, located near the 605 Running Company. The 1 Mile race begins in front of the federal courthouse and follows Phillips Avenue north into Lower Falls Park.
Participants have access to a designated Race Day Headquarters, which provides an indoor space for staying warm between events. This facility includes a recovery zone equipped with foam rollers and yoga mats, as well as snacks and beverages. All registered runners receive a button for the People’s Parade, which supports the St. Francis House. Those who complete the full Shamrock Shuffle challenge receive a finisher medal. T-shirts are distributed to registrants based on available inventory at the time of registration. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
