About the race
The West Midlands Triathlon takes place at King Edward’s School, Edgbaston Park Road, Birmingham on Saturday 7th August 2027. It is a pool-based triathlon held on site with an indoor heated pool for the swim and lapped grass circuits for the cycle and run.
The event offers four individual distances and a team relay. Courses are traffic-free, clearly marked with post-and-tape, and designed as lapped circuits that give good visibility for spectators. The cycle circuit is a flat grass arena with some undulation; the organisers cut the grass before the event. Competitors must count their own swim lengths and bike and run laps, and wearing a cycle helmet is compulsory. Electronic chip timing is used and all finishers receive an official medal.
On-site facilities include hot and cold food, refreshments, toilets, and open spaces suitable for spectators and families. A separate kids fun triathlon is available on Saturday for ages 5–18. Relay teams can consist of two or three people, with each member completing one or two disciplines and passing the electronic chip in transition.
Entry is available through the event organiser and via a charity entry option with fundraising. Race day information and race numbers are provided to competitors in advance. Limited spaces are noted by the organiser. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
