9 Locks Challenge
The 9 Locks Challenge is a point to point 10K run along the historic canal route from Stourbridge to Brierley Hill. The route follows towpaths and canal-side tracks, combining leafy sections with industrial canal character. The course includes the nine-lock climb in the final stretch.
Race logistics centre on a start area at postcode DY8 4LU and a finish area at postcode DY5 1XD. Competitors can park in the larger Waterfront car park near the finish; this car park is free and its postcode is DY5 1XA. Parking closer to the Hop House is subject to charges and app payment.
Organisers provide coach transport from the finish area to the start as part of the race fee; coaches run in rotation and the journey typically takes about ten to fifteen minutes depending on traffic. Registration and bib collection take place at the Bonded Warehouse on race day. Toilets are available at the Bonded Warehouse and at the finish venue in Wetherspoons or the Hop House. A water station is provided at the 5 km point. There is a bag drop but bags may arrive at the finish after some competitors have finished.
Race information is sent by email from seven days before the event. Limited entries may be available on the day but a medal is not guaranteed for late entrants. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
