9 Locks Challenge
The 9 Locks Challenge is a point to point 10K running event from Stourbridge to Brierley Hill along a historic canal route. The course follows towpaths and mixed terrain with sections of leafy paths and visible industrial character, and includes a nine lock climb in the final stretch. Participants receive a one off medal at the finish.
Event logistics are organised from the finish area at the Waterfront in Brierley Hill. Free parking is available in the larger Waterfront car park (postcode DY5 1XA), while parking near the Hop House requires a paid app or website. Toilets are available at the Bonded Warehouse and at Wetherspoons / Hop House.
On race day registration and bib collection take place at the Bonded Warehouse. A bag drop is provided but may arrive at the finish after some runners. A water station is located at the 5 km halfway point. The start is seeded, and coach transport is provided from the finish area to the start in Stourbridge as part of the race fee. Organisers plan to use up to three 53 seat coaches which will cycle until all competitors are transported; the coach journey typically takes about 10 to 15 minutes depending on traffic.
