Event Overview

The Big Run in Vacaville is a local running event held on a Wednesday to coincide with Global Running Day. This event is part of a nationally coordinated effort where Fleet Feet locations across the country hold races on the same date. The race takes place at Vacaville High School and is limited to 200 total entries. No registrations are accepted on the day of the event.

Course and Participation

The run is held entirely on the track. Participants are responsible for tracking their own distance since the event is untimed. Runners can monitor their progress by counting laps or using their own GPS equipment. The following categories are available:

  • Adult 5K
  • Kids 5K

The event is stroller friendly, though dogs are not permitted at the venue. All finishers receive a commemorative medal. Participants who register by May 22 are guaranteed a race shirt.

Community and Cause

The event serves as a fundraiser for the Parkinson's Research Foundation. To commemorate the life of Pat Foster, ice cream is served at the finish line. The gathering includes raffle giveaways and category prizes supported by various brands. The run is open to participants of all abilities and levels. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
