Event Overview
The Big Run - Bloomington Illinois is held in celebration of Global Running Day. The event takes place at Tipton Park, located at 2405 General Electric Road in Bloomington. The courses are designed as out-and-back routes on the Constitution Trail. This trail remains open to the public during the event, and participants are expected to follow trail running etiquette.
Available distances include:
- 5K
- Kids 1 Mile Run
The 5K event is open to walkers, provided they can finish the course within one hour. For safety reasons, strollers and dogs are not permitted on the course. The races are chip-timed, providing runners with both chip start and chip finish times. Participation is limited to a total of 150 participants.
All finishers in both the 5K and the Kids 1 Mile Run receive a medal. While there are no age group awards, participants have the option to pre-order a cotton unisex race t-shirt during registration. Bib pickup is organized at Fleet Feet Bloomington on the day before the race, or at Tipton Park on the day of the event prior to the start. The event also facilitates optional donations to Girls on the Run through the Fleet Feet charitable program. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
