Fleet Feet Chico - The Big Run
The Big Run 5k is a free community 5 kilometer run sponsored by Brooks Running, held on Global Running Day, June 3rd, at Fleet Feet Chico (241 Main St., Chico, CA 95928). The event welcomes runners and walkers and presents a short, pre-routed 5k course that goes through nearby streets and a local park and finishes back at the store.
Organizers partner with the Chico Striders for a scholarship presentation tied to the Run Strong Program. A short ceremony before the run will award a scholarship to a deserving graduating high school senior and include comments about the recipient’s future educational plans.
A post-run social will take place at the finish area and will include an ice cream bar provided by Shubert's Ice Cream. Registration for the event is used to complete the event waiver and to provide a headcount for the ice cream. The registration fee is listed as $0.00.
