Bishopton Triathlon
The Bishopton Triathlon takes place at North East Wake Park on Bishopton Lake, Stockton-on-Tees. The venue features a shallow man-made lake with a maximum depth of about 5 ft and sheltered water conditions that allow participants the option to stand during most of the swim course.
The bike course uses local open roads that are mostly flat with few turns; parts of the route have been used for British Cycle Series events, time trials and championships. The run is a new lapped route for 2026, using gravel paths and grass trails around the lake to create a spectator friendly circuit.
Entry requires British Triathlon membership and a valid race licence, either as an annual Core or Ultimate member or as a single-use race pass. Age restrictions apply: Olympic distance entries are open only to those aged 18 and over, while sprint distance entries allow 16 year olds with parental permission.
Included with entry are a finisher medal and T-shirt, athlete village access, chip-timed results, way-marked and marshalled routes, event photography, on-site parking, toilets and changing facilities, medical cover, and refreshments. The organiser made route adjustments after 2025, shortening the cycle route and changing the run course to address traffic and site layout constraints.
