Bishopton Triathlon
The Bishopton Triathlon takes place on 23 August 2026 at Bishopton Lake, North East Wake Park, Stockton-on-Tees. The bike course has been updated due to road works and the organisers adjusted routes after feedback from 2025.
The swim uses a shallow, clear man-made lake with a maximum depth of about 5 ft. The venue is sheltered from wind and offers flat open-water conditions, with the option to stand in parts of the course.
The cycle route follows flat, open roads around local villages with few turns. Parts of the course have been used for British Cycle Series events, time trials and British Championships. The run is a new lapped trail route for 2026, on gravel paths and grass around the lake, designed to be spectator friendly.
Entry requires British Triathlon membership and a race licence, or a single-use race pass. Age rules: Olympic distance events are for over 18s only; sprint distance allows 16-year-olds on race day with parental permission.
Included for participants are a finishers medal and t-shirt, chip timing, way-marked and marshalled routes, complimentary race photography, on-site parking, toilets and changing facilities, medical cover, refreshments and a recovery tent. Bike mechanic support may be available and sauna and ice bath are offered at additional cost. Dogs are not allowed at Event HQ. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
