Bishopton Triathlon
Bishopton Triathlon takes place at Bishopton Lake within North East Wake Park, Stockton-on-Tees. The event offers multiple race formats over swim, cycle and run disciplines on a single-site layout that is described as spectator friendly.
The swim is in a shallow man-made lake with a maximum depth of about 5 ft, sheltered from wind and suitable for standing if required. The cycle course uses fast open roads around local villages with very few turns and three short climb segments also used by British Cycle Series and time trial events. The run is a lapped trail route on gravel paths and grass around the lake, with lake and farmland views.
Entry requires membership of British Triathlon or a single-use race licence. Age rules: Olympic distance events are restricted to entrants over 18; sprint distance allows 16 year olds with parental permission.
Included with entries are a finishers medal and t-shirt, chip-timed results, way-marked and marshalled courses, on-site car parking, toilets and changing facilities, medical cover, and complimentary race photography. Additional on-site services include after-race refreshments, a coffee van, a recovery tent and optional sauna and ice bath at extra cost. Dogs are not permitted at Event HQ.
