Bishopton Triathlon
The Bishopton Triathlon takes place on Sunday 23 August 2026 at North East Wake Park, Bishopton, using Bishopton Lake and the surrounding site. The lake is man-made, shallow (no more than 5 ft deep) and sheltered from wind, allowing parts of the swim course where competitors can stand if required.
The cycle course runs on open roads around local villages. The route is described as flat with few turns and includes sections that have been used for British Cycle Series events, time trials and national championships. The 2026 event features an adjusted cycle route and a revised lapped run course laid out on site to improve spectator visibility.
The run route follows gravel paths and grass trails around the lake in a lapped format. The event requires British Triathlon membership or a single use Race Pass and a race licence; eligible membership types include Core or Ultimate annual membership or a single use Race Pass obtained when purchasing an event entry.
Included for entrants are a finishers medal and t-shirt, an athlete village, chip timing, way-marked and marshalled routes, event photography, on-site parking, toilets and changing facilities, medical cover and refreshments. Bike mechanic support is listed as to be confirmed. Dogs are not permitted at Event HQ. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
