The Big Kahuna 5K, 10K - Austin
The Big Kahuna takes place at SE Metro Park in Del Valle, Texas on June 21, 2026. The event is hosted by Bigfoot Running Company and uses a tropical luau theme with leis, music at the start and finish, and a themed photo backdrop.
Distances offered include:
- Kids Dash : 50 m, for ages 10 and under
- 1 Mile : not chip timed
- 5K : 3.11 miles, chip timed
- 10K : 6.22 miles, chip timed
- Volunteer then Run 5K : 3.11 miles
- Virtual Run : 9.33 miles
Participants receive race tees and finisher medals for the 1 Mile, 5K and 10K; a special Kids Dash medal is provided for the youngest participants. The 5K and 10K include age group awards with standard categories and overall and masters recognition. Aid stations are located along the course and a post race tropical treat is provided to runners.
Volunteer options include a limited Volunteer then Run option for the 5K and full race volunteer roles. Volunteers check in at the Registration Tent and receive race shirts and other role specific benefits. Course terrain includes pavement, crushed granite, and some dirt paths. Packet pickup is available on race morning and shirts are guaranteed for registrations made at least 10 days before race day. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
