The Big Alta
The Big Alta is a three-day trail running event in Marinwood, California, organized by Freetrail and Daybreak Racing and scheduled for March 19 to 21, 2027. The event uses trails in Marin County with the Marinwood Community Center listed as the venue. Registration opens September 14, 2026.
Three race distances are offered:
- 100K point to point
- 50K single loop
- 28K single loop
All courses run on regional trails and include multiple summits that reach many of the highest points in Marin County. The routes provide extended views across the San Francisco Bay Area.
