MLK Jr. Freedom Run Kansas City
The MLK Jr. Freedom Run takes place on January 16, 2027 at Mill Creek Park on Broadway Boulevard in Kansas City, Missouri. The event offers in-person and virtual participation and includes several distance options.

The event is organized as a smaller, private group run with capped waves. Waves are filled on a first come, first serve basis and close when full. Participants of all paces and ages may participate; those under 18 must be accompanied by a guardian. Late arrivals may run after waves begin while coordinators remain for a limited time after the first wave.
Timing is optional and there are no timing chips. Participants may track times with running apps such as Strava or RunKeeper and submit results for online posting, or request coordinator assistance for timing.
Race items are shipped to the US mailing address provided at registration; race bibs are issued on race day. Typical inclusions listed are a running T shirt, a finisher towel or giveaway, a finisher medal, a digital training pack, online results and a certificate of completion, plus an invitation to local running clubs. Technical running shirts are available as an optional upgrade. A virtual option includes a digital training pack and a mailed medal for submitted results.
