The Ascent Red River Gorge 5K
The Ascent Red River Gorge 5K is a trail run and walk held at the Natural Bridge Campground in Slade, Kentucky. The course is on private property within the Red River Gorge area and begins and ends at the campground at 90 L&E Railroad Place, Slade, KY 40376.
The route includes notable trail climbs and offers views and rock arches along the way. The event is presented by the Rugged Red Race & Adventure Series and is organized as a 5K distance on a hilly trail surface.
Event features listed for the race include commemorative poly/cotton T shirts while supplies last, awards for the top three male and female overall finishers, free race photos, and food, music and fellowship at the finish area. Packet pickup is available the Friday before the race at the campground pavilion and there is a last chance pickup on race morning from 6:30 to 7:45 AM at the same pavilion.
