The Amazing Spooktacular 5K Run & Walk
The Mesquite ISD Education Foundation organizes The Amazing Spooktacular, a Halloween-themed community run and walk held at Town East Mall on Saturday, October 24. The event includes a 5K Run & Walk and a Monster 1 Mile, and participants are invited to wear Halloween costumes.
The event supports Mesquite ISD teachers and students; proceeds help bring teacher ideas to life across the district. The Spooktacular also serves as the kickoff for the Mesquite ISD Read.Play.Talk. Festival and features free trick-or-treating and free Kid's Zone access for children who take part in the 5K, along with dozens of vendor booths, activities, and food trucks.
Race offerings and services include an official event T-shirt, a custom commemorative finisher medal, a race number/bib, chip timing for the 5K (with many participants choosing to walk untimed), free parking at the event, and additional swag and discount offers. Awards are presented for overall male and female finishers and for first place in multiple age categories; awards are given at a ceremony following the 5K.
Photographs from past events show students, families, and staff participating together, with handmade encouragement signs and spectators cheering along the route. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
