BMW Dallas Marathon
The BMW Dallas Marathon is organized by a non-profit. It focuses on promoting health and fitness through running events. The organization began in 1971.
The BMW Dallas Marathon is described as Dallas’s largest running event and Texas’s longest continuously running marathon. The event weekend includes a marathon, a half marathon, a 50K ultra marathon, relays, a 10K, a 5K, a 5K team challenge, a Friday Night Lights Mile, and various kids races.
The event's courses highlight the city's neighborhoods, entertainment districts, and iconic landmarks. The event is held on the second Sunday of December. It is recognized as the official marathon of the City of Dallas. Since 1997, the event has donated more than $4.5 million to Scottish Rite for Children.
