The Active Texan Triathlon
The Active Texan Triathlon is a sprint multisport event held in Bryan, Texas. Located at Lake Walk and the surrounding Traditions neighborhood, the event supports a local nonprofit organization. This competition is USAT sanctioned, meaning all participants must hold either a single day or annual USAT membership to take part.
The event features the following distances:
- 400m swim
- 14 mile bike
- 3.1 mile run
The swim portion utilizes a self-seeding rolling start where athletes enter the water from a floating pier. Due to expected water temperatures, wetsuits are generally not permitted, though final conditions are communicated before the race. The transition area opens on the morning of the event, as no overnight bike storage is provided at the venue. Access to this area is restricted to participating athletes only.
In addition to the individual sprint triathlon, a relay option is available. This allows teams of three to participate, with each member completing one of the three legs of the race. Participants who choose to make a specific donation amount during the registration process may receive additional benefits such as reserved parking and priority transition placement. All registrations for this event are final and non-refundable. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
