Hebden Bridge Fell Race
The Hebden Bridge Fell Race is a 10 km category BS fell event over trail and open moorland, with approximately 350 m (1150 ft) of climb. The course includes a steep ascent to Stoodley Pike and a return via Erringden Moor, combining open moor, trail and wooded sections.
The route starts just off Calder Holmes Park and finishes back in Calder Holmes Park. The line is flagged throughout and the course is marshalled. The final approach to the finish follows densely wooded paths and tracks. The race operates under FRA rules.
Event details include a race limit of 200 competitors, a minimum age of 16, team entries for three-person teams, and an entry fee of £5 in advance or £6 on the day. The event is in its 16th year and forms part of Todmorden Harriers’ Summer Series alongside Blackstone Edge, Stoodley Pike and Crow Hill Reverse; entering all four races enters competitors into a prize draw. Registration and prize presentation take place at The Albert Pub in Hebden Bridge, with prize giving held either at the pub or at Calder Holmes Park depending on weather.
Competitors must meet the kit requirements specified by the organiser in line with FRA guidance. Required items may include full waterproof body cover, hat, gloves, map, compass and whistle; kit checks may take place and failure to carry required kit can lead to disqualification.
