Tharptown Christmas Display - Run Run Rudolph 5K
The Tharptown Christmas Display hosts the 2nd Annual Run Run Rudolph 5K on 11/21/2026 in Coal Township, Pennsylvania at 713 Center St. The event offers a 5K (3.1 miles) running race with themed course elements based on the film A Christmas Story. Registration opens 02/12/2026 and closes 11/17/2026. The published entry fee is $30, with a day-of registration fee of $40. Shirts and participation medals are not guaranteed for registrations after October 31.
The course passes several themed spots inspired by scenes from the film, and the event includes a costume contest with prizes for the top three A Christmas Story inspired outfits; costume winners will be announced on Facebook. Cash prizes for the top three overall male and female finishers are $75, $50, and $30. Medals are awarded to the top three in the following male and female age groups: 18 and under, 19–29, 30–39, 40–49, 50–59, 60–69, and 70 plus. Every finisher receives a slice of pizza. The first 50 registrants receive a collectible Christmas ornament, a signed keepsake from a celebrity from the movie, and a bar of Lifebuoy soap. Walkers are welcome and will be asked to start at the back of the field. Professional timing is provided by Falcon Race Timing. Proceeds support the Tharptown Christmas Display and the event's celebrity guest arrangements. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
