Thanksgiving 5K, Prediction 5K & Fun Walk : St. Mary's City
The event offers three main participation options on a flat road course through Historic St. Mary’s City at the Visitor's Center, 18751 Hogaboom Lane. One hundred percent of race proceeds will be donated to Special Olympics, St. Mary's County.
Distances and formats:
- 5K timed running and walking race.
- Prediction 5K running and walking where participants predict their finish time and may not wear a watch.
- Fun Walk on the same flat road course.
Race t-shirts are provided to the first 100 paid participants; that number may increase with pre-registration. Walkers in the 5K or Prediction 5K are scored alongside runners and are eligible for awards. Strollers and babies are welcome. Well behaved dogs are allowed on leashes.
Awards for the 5K include fastest male and female overall and top three males and females in age categories: 9 and under; 10–14; 15–19; 20–29; 30–39; 40–49; 50–59; 60–69; 70–79; 80 and over. Prediction 5K awards go to those whose finish times are closest to their predicted times, with top three recognized.
Additional notes: entry fees increase by $5 on race morning, there are numerous door prizes, and a food drive requests nonperishable items for local food banks. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
