Thankful 4... Running Events
The Thankful 4... event is an annual running competition held in Snead, Alabama. Now in its fourth year, the event features a variety of distances held on a Saturday in November. The start and finish lines are located at Sharecroppers Coffee and Creamery at 380 Greer Drive. Participants follow a course characterized by country scenery and terrain described as easy.
Available distances include:
- 10 km (6.2 miles)
- 5 km (3.1 miles)
- 1 mile Fun Run
The races are chip-timed, and walkers are permitted to participate in the events. Participants receive a race packet that includes a bib, a shirt, and a finisher award. Awards are also presented to top performers in age divisions and for overall male and female winners.
On-site activities include "thankful boards" where runners can write what they are thankful for, as well as a dedicated photo booth. The host venue features a full espresso bar, a gift shop, and food services including breakfast, lunch, and ice cream. Proceeds from the event are directed toward the Sharecroppers Soles fund, which provides shoe scholarships for cross country and track and field students to receive professional fittings and athletic footwear.
