Texoma Challenge
The Texoma Challenge is an endurance running event held on Saturday, June 6, 2026, at Waterloo Park in Denison, Texas. The event uses a 6.2 mile loop on Waterloo Trails that begins and ends at the park.
Distances offered include:
- 50K
- 50K Relay
- Marathon
- Half Marathon
- 10K
- 10K Ruck
- 5K
The trail surface is rooty and dirt single track. The course features rolling hills with about 500 feet of elevation gain per loop. Historic average temperatures for the date range from about 68 to 80 degrees Fahrenheit. This is a no cup race so participants must carry their own water-carrying system. A headlamp is required for all participants. Events use a nine hour cutoff.
Ruck requirements are based on participant weight: those over 150 pounds carry 30 pounds and those under 150 pounds carry 20 pounds. Ruck participants may use a ruck sack or vest.
Finishers and top placers receive event items and awards. All running distances receive a Texoma Challenge finisher medal marked with the distance. Ruck finishers receive a Texoma Challenge RUCK patch. Overall male and female awards are given for the top three in each distance. The 50K running event and the 50K relay include a last place DFL award. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
