Tesoro Viejo Spring Classic Half Marathon
The Tesoro Viejo Spring Classic Half Marathon takes place in Madera, California at the intersection of Hwy 41 and Tesoro Viejo Blvd. The event includes a half marathon, a 10k, a 5k run/walk and a virtual run. The course runs from the main community Hub at Tesoro Viejo around the community perimeter, passing over bridges, along tree-lined lanes, and around the lip of a gulch with views of wetland preserves, meadows and nearby homes.
The half marathon and 10k use mostly unpaved, groomed trails with rolling hills; the half marathon includes some mild hills. The 5k is about 95 percent on paved trails and is stroller friendly. Water station maps and course maps are provided by the organizer.
Race amenities include gender specific technical shirts, custom finisher medallions, and a postrace festival that features a hot cinnamon roll, wine tasting, a beer garden and live rock music. Guest passes and limited VIP spots are available. The event supports the Tesoro Viejo Conservancy, which focuses on land preservation, wildlife protection, river access and public education about natural resources.
Packet pickup is scheduled the day before the race at Fleet Feet Fresno. The event takes place rain or shine and does not allow dogs. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
