Event overview
The Sycamore Island 5k & 10k Run/Walk takes place on January 11, 2026 at Sycamore Island, 39664 Avenue 7 1/2, Madera, CA 93636. Proceeds support the San Joaquin River Parkway & Conservation Trust and Sycamore Island. The event offers two course options:
- 5k Run/Walk
- 10k Run/Walk
Courses use single-track trails and several miles of dirt roads on the 350-acre Sycamore Island property. The site includes three river access points for canoeing and kayaking, three covered picnic shelters, and a bait shop that sells snacks and beverages.
Race details
Packet pickup is available early on January 10 from 3:30–5:30pm at Fleet Feet Sports Fresno, 9447 N Fort Washington Suite 106, Fresno, CA 93730, and on race day at Sycamore Island from 7:15–8:15am. There is no race day registration. Parking inside Sycamore Island has no fee and volunteers will direct traffic. Restrooms are near the parking area and are located at points along the course.
The course will be marked with signs, directional arrows, and orange ribbon. There will be one aid station at about 1.5 miles; the 10k course passes this aid station again at about 4.5 miles. Dogs and strollers are not allowed on the course. All participants receive custom finisher medals and an event T-shirt; awards are given to top performers in each category.
