About the race
The Reindeer Run is a holiday-themed trail race held at Hydaway Outdoor Center in Lynchburg, Virginia. It is the third trail race in the Liberty Mountain Trail Series and covers 2 miles on an out-and-back course along forest roads. Organizers encourage seasonal costumes and provide cookies, cocoa, and other post-race treats.
Registration opens July 20, 2026 and closes December 4, 2026. The published registration fee is $25.00; a student discount is applied at checkout. A featured giveaway t-shirt is guaranteed for registrations completed before November 26, with a limited number of extra shirts available at packet pickup.
Packet pickup is scheduled on December 4 at Lahaye Rotunda and on December 5 at Hydaway. Awards are planned for the top three male and female overall finishers, the top three male and female finishers in each age group, and the top male and female masters overall (over 40). Overall awards will be ranked by gun time and age group awards by chip time. Door prizes will be given during the event.
A donation partner will be announced later; participants who donate may receive a discount on registration. A referral program offers a $20 refund after three referred registrations. Runners who complete all five Liberty Mountain Trail Series races in 2026-2027 will receive finisher awards in April 2027. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
