Terra Nova Adventure Race
Terra Nova Adventure Race is a team event at the ARC of Franschhoek by Berg River Dam on 6 September 2026. Teams of two navigate an unmarked course using a printed Google map and must locate checkpoints using mountain biking, trekking and kayaking.
Races are offered in two classes:
- Explorer - 10 km
- Challenger - 25 km
Approximate discipline breakdown for each class is provided by the organisers. Explorer includes about 7 km of mountain biking, 2 km of trekking and 1 km of kayaking. Challenger includes about 17 km of mountain biking, 6 km of trekking and 1-2 km of kayaking.
Included with entry are access to the ARC of Franschhoek venue, a printed race map, kayak and paddles, a finisher's medal, medical support and a prize giving ceremony. Items not included are a mountain bike, a compulsory cycling helmet, personal clothing and footwear, food and bike spares or tools. A map board is available for hire and PFD life jacket rental is mentioned as an option.
