Event details
The Tear Drop race weekend on April 26, 2026 in Chatsworth, Georgia includes three distances:
- 13.1 miles (Half Marathon)
- 10K
- 5K
All distances start on top of Fort Mountain at an elevation near 3000 feet and finish at Chatsworth City Park (400 N 2nd Ave). The half marathon has an overall drop of more than 2000 feet and includes about seven miles of 5-10% grade downhill; the 10K includes about five miles downhill and the 5K about two miles downhill. All courses are on paved roads and are USATF certified. The half marathon route uses an out-and-back section on the mountain and contains several climbs.
Logistics and amenities
Runners park at the finish in City Park and are transported by shuttle buses to their start locations on Fort Mountain. Each distance has bathrooms at its start area; portable toilets will also be available at water stations. Water and toilet stops: four stations for the half (miles 4, 7, 10 and 12), two for the 10K (miles 3 and 5) and one for the 5K (mile 2). A SAG vehicle will follow the last runner and may transport participants who fall below the permitted pace.
All finishers receive a short sleeve t-shirt and a finisher medal. Age group awards are given for all distances; plaques are awarded to overall and masters winners in the half. Post-race food, cold drinks and live music are provided; beer is available for participants 21 and older. The charity partner is Murray Arts Council.
