Tear Drop Half Marathon 10K & 5K
The Tear Drop event is an annual road race in Chatsworth, Georgia, with three USATF certified distances: a half marathon, a 10K and a 5K. All courses begin on top of Fort Mountain and finish at City Park in Chatsworth. The half marathon features more than a 2000 foot net elevation loss and a mix of downhill and several climbs on an out-and-back portion on the mountain.
- Half Marathon (13.1 miles) with over 2000 foot elevation drop.
- 10K with five miles of downhill on paved roads.
- 5K with two miles of downhill and a flat to rolling finish.
Courses are on paved roads and include designated downhill sections with specified grades. The event provides shuttle buses from the finish to the various start locations and directs runners to park at the finish area. Aid and logistics include multiple water stations and portable toilets on course, a SAG vehicle following the last runner, and bib timing with chip timing for the half. All finishers receive a medal, a short sleeve shirt while supplies last, and a finisher photo. Food, cold drinks and live music are provided at the finish area, and race proceeds support the Murray Arts Council. Refunds are not provided; event insurance is available for purchase.
